NH TC 35 had, now a TC35DA LS25 lawnmower
I added this to a thread on the NH forum with no luck. Looks like you have to have a HST to talk to those guys. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Anyway, my TC35 is exceptionally hard to change ranges and the trans is very stiff to shift also. Sometimes I'm afraid I might bend something it's so tight.

Even after making hay with 5030, I've only got 41 hrs on this machine. Is it possible it's just too new yet or what? I've also got a little baby LS25 I bought in 1994 thats always been stiff to shift also. Just figured since that one isn't much more than a riding mower I could live with it, but not on my TC.

Anybody got any ideas?

I used to own a NH 3930. Its worst feature was the high/low range shift. Even after 650 hours, it was a bear to shift. Dealer/NH said it was a nuance of the NH/Ford 30 series transmission. It's gone now and my new tractor is hydro.

John,

I don't know if this will be of any help or not...

But a few weeks ago I noticed my position control lever was getting real hard to move. I was using a dirt scoop on the back, to help my loader carry some fill about a hundred yards...lots of use of the 3PH dumping the dirt scoop.

Anyway, I sprayed the linkage, expecially where it went into the rear housing, a LOT with a couple different kinds of penatrating oils...including PB Blaster...after a while it became normal again...

I think some dust got in and was binding the shaft. Not sure if doing something like this would help in your situation or not. Sure did in mine though... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Thanks guys, I hope the blaster works, I'm not too keen on the idea that it might be something I have to live with.

Bought a can of the Blaster the other day when I changed out the shocks on my Stroker. That stuff seems to work pretty good. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Does the shift lever have a grease zerk where it pivots, somewhere under the operator station?

Guys; It looks like the PB Blaster did some good, so
I also sprayed the 4X4 lever along with the range shifter and trans shifter. I had hoped for a zerk fitting on the trans shifter, but ofcourse not. The shift lever is connected to a shaft that just disappears into the top of the trans, reminds me of a top loader trans. Hopefully things will freeup sooner or later.

Thanks again. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif
