Mowing sticky shifting 345 JD

Hi: I have a 345 JD with the hydrostat (sp) transmission. When I am mowing in forward and let off the foreward peddle , the transmission sticks in foreward , instead of taking it out of gear. I have to step on the brake to disengage the transmission. Any idea , what the problem may be ??? Thanks and have a good day!!!! jim in INDY

Im not very sure. But maybe there is some trash under the pedal area?
