We don't see very many of these guys, but today our first one came up to our feeder. He never left the ground and just ate a few seeds before running off.

They really seem to love the power lines. This is a closeup of one, but there's usually a couple dozen of them all bunched up together.

Steph has been trying to get a good picture of these guys as they hit the water. We guess they are drinking, but that doesn't make sence. They will do this over and over again, then sit on the power lines for awhile.
This picture really turned out amazing. Too bad you can't see it in full resolution.

Here's another good example of what the tripod can do. This isn't a maximum zoom pic like some of the others, but a pretty cool closeup that she got.
These flowers are native here and on a normal year, they will completly cover a field. This year we're very dry and the wildflowers are not very impresive.
