Steering issues

[GRUMPA]

Been years since I posted something so here it goes.

Having a Kama TS354C which sits more than it gets used actually, developed a problem. Took it out to help out a neighbor and the front tire hit a rock and all of a sudden both the front tires veer outwards. In other words the left tire goes left and the right tire goes right at the same time, I guess pigeon toed might be a better description. Now matter what direction I turn the wheel the tires stay the same, and that's using the front end loader to lift the front wheels off the ground.

Getting it home was to say the least....exciting.

Now it seems I need to start looking for a fix, and I'm wondering where to begin. I suspect I blew a seal or something in the front cylinder. I'm hoping that's the problem and not somewhere in the steering column which looks like a nightmare.

Anyone ever have something like this happen?

If so what was the fix?

I'm really hoping parts wont be an issue..

Sounds to me like you broke a tie rod and a drag link. Look underneath the tractor and see if you see anything dangling down.

Nothing broken at all, as a matter of fact everything is as it should be. The rods coming out of the front cylinder are pushing the tires outwards, under pressure. I was on 1 side and the neighbor on the other, and no matter how hard we pushed we couldn't get the tire(s) to budge at all. Made it kinda awkward to try and turn it around to point downhill to get it on the trailer. Had to use the front end loader to lift the front tires off the ground to tow it home.

It seems it not just a single rod in that cylinder, but 2 rods each independent of each other.
