I have a very old Iseki TU1900 whose steering gear box failed. The sector gear has completely gone and other parts are slightly worn so they probably need replacement (a ball bearing and the rack gear that acts on the sector).
Unfortunately spare parts are very difficult to be found if not impossible. I wonder if I could fix the problem by using the gearbox of a different tractor or else transform the steering mechanism into an hydraulic one.
I am a fairly good mechanic but I would appreciate all kind of advices, especially by someone who has already done something similar.
