Steering cylinder seals on a John Deere 2750

Any idea of a rough cost to repair leaking seals on the steering cylinder of a John Deere 2750?

Is it a 2wd or 4wd? Are you doing it yourself?

2wd, might do it myself, depends on the expertise needed. It is on a tractor for sale at a good price.

Not difficult to do. You do need to know what cylinder or axle you have to get the right seals. The seals run about $30.00/cylinder.

Thanks Tractor Tech, with both sides leaking and the right side leaking bad will that impact the operation of the brakes and the 3pt lift? I am going to check out the tractor this week, If the motor sounds good, if I can detect very little blow by I am going to buy the Tractor. The hour meter says 10462 hours, is that too many to be worth the effort and money?

It could affect the brakes, but not the 3pt, except by the fact that it might be low on oil due to the leaks. Make sure and check the chrome rods on the cylinders for scratches or scores that a seal kit won't remedy.
10,000 hours is a lot of hours on a tractor. Pretty much the average to high average for a 2750. Either get it for a good price and inspect it thoroughly or pass. Ask if it has had a rebuild on the engine, transmission or PTO.
