Hoping someone has some knowledge about older Kubotas. I have an bad leak on steering cylinder. Good people at dealership say nothing is available as tractor is so old. They say it is about 1970 ish origin. I can probably find seals etc to repair it but wonder if anyone knows of parts available for this model? I also would need a exhaust manifold. If anyone can help I would appreciate it. One last question ,does the rear end use the same fluid ( hyd ) as everything else.? I cannot find any level indicators or plugs etc anywhere on rearend. So, I am thinking that the fluid that goes in the top of the transmission feeds everything? Thanks.

I have a L245DT and if you go to tractor house .com you can learn the date of your machine. The steering cylinder did not come on all machines-it was a optional item. Most dealerships will try to get you to trade it for a new tractor. Mine is still running good after buying it used in 1982. Since nobody knew anything about the steering I took the cylinder to a local hyd. shop. They polished the cylinder and rod and repacked everything for 175.00. Put it back on and have used it with no leaks for a year. West Kentucky Tractor parts would be a place to try for your used manifold. Have you tried to have it welded locally? Trans /dralic fluid goes into the top of the trans and does the gears and everything. There is a drain plug on the left side of trans around the clutch pedal. Fill up to this point. The tractor has a hyd. screen on the left side of the case (setting in the seat drop your left hand it will be on the case about that far back). It will be behind a oval piece held on by 2 bolts. I had my tractor for 20 years before learning of this. Get a owners manual off E-bay or Amazon for less than 10.00. Do not use Messicks for the steering, I ended up with no useable parts after purchasing what they suggested.

Thanks, for all the info. I have already taken manifold to a local welder and will have steering cylinder rebuilt by a hyd shop. Thank You for your help. much appreciated.
