I want to get a stationary engine, probably a McCormick-Deering but the John Deere options seem to be a lot easier to find along with Fairbanks Morse options.

Where should I be looking? The Western Minnesota Threshermen show was a really good experience and while I really like the Steam Tractors and the Rumely tractors, the stationary engines where really hard to walk away from. I especially liked the belt drive attachments that pulled the corn off the cob and then ground it to a rough 'crack' for the chickens. Those 'hit and miss' engines were intoxicating and I loved the threshing and grinding.

Everyone suggested Facebook but, the vast majority of the stationary engines seem to be in Australia with a good showing out of the UK. Googling for better 'specific' forums, I really didn't find much that was updated within the last 6 months. While I don't expect huge volumes of daily posting, I suspect I'm missing a good Stationary Engine forum. Craigslist might be a reasonable option in the upper MidWest but, here in Texas I have zero hits. Aumann auctions seems to have some from a closed museum in TN but, other than that I am not finding much CONUS.

Heck, if someone around here has an old stationary engine that needs a new home, hit me up! I'm looking for smaller options 1 1/2hp to 3hp but, could be swayed with the right engine but, an ~8,000# engine is a hard no as I don't want to go to shows pulling something that heavy (~11,000# with my 14K rated trailer), otherwise a Rumely tractor starts to become more viable.
