Starting a JD 2520

I believe the clicking sound is the fuel pump. On my 3520 for cold weather I turn the key to "on" without cranking the started, push the key in and a squiggly line lights up on the dash which means the glow plugs are on. Wait a bit, hit the started and she's running smooth right away. Would think the 2520 is the same procedure.
