Starter not engaging

My YM2210D starter just spins without engaging when I attempt to start. It has not shown any starter problems in the past. It was a little colder than usual this morn (about 40 F) for a Florida tractor which I guess might affect a spoiled warm weather tractor. Anyway, is this most likely a solenoid or drive pinion problem? Also, what are my chances of finding interchangeable replacement parts at local parts stores? Thanks Pird

Could be either one, but you would have to remove and inspect/test to be sure. I doubt that you would find parts for it but if needed, any starter shop should be able to handle it.
