I haven't thought this through at all, but sitting here Saturday morning, it occurred to me that it might be somewhat convenient to have an indicator light that indicated that one of the starter disable switches (or operator presence switches) is tripped (seat/in gear/etc - they differ on the different tractors).
That way, when the tractor fails to start or stops suddenly, you'd know to check the various disable conditions, instead of getting all worked up about a potential mechanical problem.
Seems to me it'd be pretty easy to wire this up using the normally closed side of a relay so the light is on when the circuit is open - I'd want a "light-on" condition to indicate a problem. That way, a burned out light bulb or malfunctioning indicator circuit would appear to still be saying "the tractor will start".
Of course, if the indicator circuit goes bad...

Anyway, just an idle thought.

It would be nice to know which safety switch is open preventing the tractor from starting. Otherwise you have to check each one individually until you get lucky and find the right one.
