Started my first grapple project

I like you garpple idea and the do it yourself approach. Just a though, but if possible it would be better to have the grapple in two sections with independent cylinders. Mine, though bought, is built this way and would not work near as well with only a single gate. Many times I'll have a log get sideways and prevent one from closing. With two the other still has the clamping force to catch everything else.

Check the geometry of the Green Machines Thumb.You will need to be similar.Your grapple is a little wider ,I still think one cylinder will be enough.Mine does not open as much as I would like but works well.Tooth-bar also helps a lot.I welded an angle the full length of my bucket also.
The manifold idea and two cylinders will work for sure,but if you split the grapple things get a lot more complicated hydraulically.

Here is something I made several years ago, using scarifier blades.

I need one of these for my L35. Where do I find these scarifier blades? And is it bypass??

The scarifier came off my box grader, your local tractor supply company who ever it may be should have these as replacement. As for the two end pieces they were found on eBay,good seller fast shipping quality work.
You question about bypass, I'm questing your referring to hydraulics. I tapped in as a true third function with its own valve.

I am not sure what you mean by bypass.


Most any farm supply should have them.

You could also cut them out of steel and add the harden tips.

The teeth bypass each other and it will tighten on small stuff.
