My start relay is acting up on my Hydrostatic peddles, Im not sure where the switch is but it doesn't want to start after you shut it off. rocking the peddles sometimes works. The tractor is kept inside but I haven't used it much the last year. Any thought or suggestions.

Well while reading on the switches under the seat you should be able to get off the seat without the tractor shutting off as long as the hydro peddle is in neutral position. I do have min cut out indicating the my hydro peddle isn't defaulting back to neutral. I am confident that my problem is at the hydrostatic peddle.

This is a common problem with the B7800. Finding dead center with the hydro pedal usually resolves the problem. I did several things before I found out about this issue with B7800's. You may have another problem but it sounds like the common problem with them.
I rocked mine one time on a hill and thought, yeah, that's it. I unplugged and squirted in dielectric grease in all the connectors under the seat. Course I thought each one had fixed the problem but rocking the foot pedal was all it took and then found out we with this problem on the B7800 were many.

Been discussed here many times. Finding the neutral position within the safety switch is the key. I have used my hand to gently move the pedal until it hits the right spot. Often times a slight movement is better than a full cycle or range of motion to hit the spot. Also a thread here with pictures of the switch location and a wiring diagram work-around.

Patience.

I once had the hydro pedal switch come loose on my B7800, causing
it to not start. See post #12 in this thread for a picture of its location.

I can not thank you enough for that link and the great pictures. I know that is my problem. I do love this little tractor and this is the 1st real annoying problem I have had with it. I knew sooner or later these safety switches were going to start to be an issue. That is 1 of the reasons I keep it inside all the time. Thanks again Everyone

I bought my B7800 used and I know that the switch to the hydro pedal is either bypassed or faulty, because it does not shot off the tractor when the seat is raised and the pedal is pressed. The tractor starts and stops and all but I'd prefer the switch working. I now know where to look for the fix thanks to you guys.

I don't think this problem is limited to the B7800. I have a B7610 that expeirences the exact same problem. And this thread was very helpful.

Thanks,

Dave

Well I have another storm coming in tonight so I am gong to have to fix this after work today. It has been so cold I tend to not work on stuff when it is down in the single numbers. things tend to break very easy. I do have it in the shop though & I really want my bug back in the garage.
