can you do cellular calls over fiber?

Using WiFi for calls is an option on almost all phones.

It's not dependent on the internet service type, it's dependant on your phone, carrier, and wifi connection.

Fiber is just the medium for the internet access; "Wi-Fi calling" is when the phone places the call over the internet and it won't care if the internet is starlink, DSL, cellular, long-range Wi-Fi, or dial-up; the Wi-Fi part is from the phone to the local router. Your performance may vary depending on the medium of course...

Yes. Our phones are set to do Wi-Fi calling. I have a D-Link mesh Wi-Fi system for each location.

Fiber is another form of connectivity.....to the internet too. Wifi of course is another option. Most all cell phones and devices do Wifi these days.

Thanks. Just wondering. I never bothered investigating fiber because i thought it would never get to us way out where i live.

It cost me 14k to run fiber the place in Washington…

Now I here folks are getting it at no charge.

County required mine to go underground… are you guys underground?

I can see the tower thru the trees. Only $52k to get it to edge of my property.

AT&T put in a fiber optic line just outside my entire eastern property line about 8-9 years ago. I watched go in. It runs up the county road to the north. Ever since then, I've been inquiring about getting fiber optic internet. They keep saying it's not available.

I keep getting pitched to hookup. Last time the agent was so adamant, assuring me I was wrong, that it was indeed available I let her schedule the installed. When tech got out ofhis truck he started laughing. i said, not getting it am I? Nope. He did say he’d get back to me. The contractor was at the tower. Shortly after I got the email asking if I wanted to proceed to get it to the property, $52k.
