Starlink

The count of usage does not necessarily start on the first of the month. It depends on when your renewal cycle is. Mine resets on the 27th. Our neighbors on the the 18th of each month. This is a good thing, since it means all of the data hogs don't reset at the same time, spreading the load.

The letter states only 10% of the subscribers fall into the penalty bracket. The TB limit is what I would hope for from Starlink. I do want to go all in with them for my business and home use under the residential plan.
Have a good night.

Got the email yesterday as well. It said I'm not affected but I wonder for how long?

The throttling has begun and it's only a matter of time before they reduce the usage threshold.

Starlink has to make a profit like any business. I'm okay with them making this move. By cutting excessive use they will be able to better serve the majority.
I'm not a doom and gloom kinda guy. My use would have to triple to reach the allotment limit. I'm happy with what I'm getting from Starlink for the money.

In this day and age relying on only 1 method of digital communication is risky.
That's why I still pay my $23/month for my Mobely.

$23 a month is a no brainer. I will always have my AT&T cell phone coverage and that could always be used as a hotspot for the PC if needed. I'm talking about dropping the $500 a month AT&T business plan vs Starlink $110 just to be clear.

What they need to do is not sell to people that have actual broadband options (DSL, cable, fiber) at all. That will help cut down on usage.

Agreed - eliminate all accts with a cable access. Problem solved.

Heil ******,
at $110 month those with viable cable will most likely end up going back to such a critter.
We don't need some busy body deciding who gets what......

But no longer available. I’m keeping mine also.
I have a Verizon rural unlimited plan for $50/month. Works pretty good. Usually get over 30Mbps on the download and 6-7 upload.

Our rural internet in Oz leaves a lot to be desired, that is, until Starlink came along.

1tb is pretty good compared to the 10g limit I used to have with hughesnet!
