The FAQ explains why it might be problematic to move your receiver. Receiver is assigned to a specific area, sounds like that sat won't talk to you, if the sats location isn't over your area. Don't know how big that area is though.

Have you downloaded the app to see if you have enough sky to connect up?

I did not, and cannot find anything that would allow me to test? Do you have a link.

I have 12mb copper DSL at my Nevada location. Charter (cable) high speed internet is one block away. 300mb. They invited me to sign up, I accepted, and they sent a "tech team" to assess my site. Later I got "good news and bad news." The good news is I can partially share the install costs with 3 (agreeable) neighbors. Each neighbor at $3k apiece. Total of $9k. I'd be responsible for the added $16k as the total cost to hook me up was $25k. Uhhh, thank you but NO.

So if Starlink works at my rural CA property, I'll likely switch to it in NV as well. Both of them are at the 39th parallel.

There is an Android app in the Google playstore that will guide you on setup if installed. It checks for obstructions on placement of your dish.
