Oil & Fuel Stalling Starving for fuel symptoms...

I had a piece of silicone (that had been used as a gasket) floating around in my tank and it would periodically plug the line to the filter. When I shut the engine down it would float free for a few days. It finally got sucked in solid....

i've seen a leaf, and a flap of rubber innertube ???? do that as well.
