Stability control now mandatory

Verticaltrx, did you try pulling the abs fuse? I know in older vehicles it would just turn off the computer.

That's what I'm going to try next. I think on this vehicle the actual ABS 'computer' functions are built into the ECU since it takes the readings from the ABS rings to give the speedo, but maybe pulling the fuse will deactivate the ABS pump/pulsator.

Yup, unplugging the bleed valve and pump would certainly stop the abs lol.

I get to drive a Lotus Elise and it has not got servo assisted brakes, ABS, power steering or any computer controlled driving aids.

It is a brilliant drive even in the wet and you can feel the brakes and what they are doing through the rock hard pedal with vitually no travel, it just works as and when you want it.

I've driven many a semi with fly by wire throttle control and its not the same, the new rigs have no gear shifter just three buttons, one for park one for forward and one for reverse. Trouble is they cant see the road ahead and put you in too low a gear as they dont know when you are going down hill or up, absolutely useless.

No wonder drivers fall astleep, nothing to do only steer with cruise control on and low noise levels and heaters etc.

Where will it all end:rolleyes::rolleyes:
