It sounds simple enough, and it should be blatantly obvious where an ignition coil bracket would bolt to a K181S. However, it escapes me.
There are two bolt holes under the carb where the coil will bolt up at, but it would have the coil mounted horizontally. Also, there isn稚 room to mount it horizontally because of the muffler and heat shield.
It seems like I am missing some other bracket.

Anyone have a clue if I am missing something?

Found this from a 110 parts catalog, that may help. Shows a bracket part (key 40) that the coil (key 43) mounts on..
Schematic of parts on one page and the part no's on the other.
Check it out, see if it helps..

Thanks, but that is for an older model than mine. Mine is electric start.
You have me an idea though. I have only been searching within my serial number range. I went up to the next range of numbers and found the bracket. Now that I know what it should look like, I can make one.

Put the flywheel cover back on and you will see where it mounts

Here is a pic of the coil mounted to the flywheel cover as Barry suggested.

It doesn’t mount to the cover. I found the bracket and how it mounts in my post above. On my K181S without a starter/generator, the coil mounts below the carburetor on a bracket.

If you look at the pictures in my first post, there you can see two vertical bolt holes below the carb. That is where the mounting plate bolts to, then the coil bolts to the mounting plate.

My K181 is an electric start as well... glad to see you are getting the answers you need.
