JD 3320
There are 16 acres to mow, tedder, rake and square bale. I have a JD 3320 which has 25 HP at the PTO. Trying to find the equipment is difficult because there are not standard HP listings. They don't always deferentiate between Tractor HP and PTO HP. Would like information about tedder, rake and square balers that I can run with my tractor.

You might be better off finding a local already in the hay baling business. Work out some deal where you get what you need for the year and he can keep what's left.

25HP isn't really enough for a square baler, need more like 40-50HP generally.

I agree 25hp is not enough for a baler. You might find an old baler with it's own engine but I would only consider that if your ground is pretty flat. You don't have enough tractor for hills.

ALL balers are spec'd to PTO horsepower. Remember to consider if your tractor is heavy enough. That is a bigger concern, more than HP. Baled with an MF 35, and it fit the bill nicely.

Some tedders and rakes are ground driven, so your tractor PTO hp is a non-issue. Others are pto driven. Smaller ones can run off 25 hp.

Small square balers like my Massey Ferguson 124 are speced at 35-40 hp pto. But you can run them with smaller tractors. Here's a YouTube video showing a small square baler being run by a Farmall Super A that has less than 20 hp pto.

The baler part starts about 6 minutes into the video.

You might find an old square baler with an on-board Wisconsin air-cooled engine so you don't have to power the baler via your tractor's pto.

Good luck.

I know where one of those can be found, but it might be a long ride form NC to NY.
