The snowblower has been removed, the spreader has been removed, the cab is off, the ROPS is on and for now the rotary broom is on to dethatch the lawns. Now it is time to tune up the mower deck and be ready for summer.

Bought 90 lbs of grass seed yesterday to start overseeding and patching yard.

My first mission is to drag the lawn roller around. It doesn't really make the bumps smooth, but it packs down the earth that heaves around my birch tree roots.

My first mission :
Gather all the small branches and twigs up out of the yard .
It may get warm and dry enough to do it today.

Gonna hit 60 here today:D Finally the snow has melted enough to see my rocks/boulders I have been plucking out for the past few years. Tons to do but today I am leaving work early and am going to get a few hrs. of seat time :D in starting to make my hedge rows, you can see some of my rock collection in the pic, plenty more in piles on the other side of the house which is site for future pond so I will use those in that area.

Larry, I gotter done about 3 weeks ago but the wind was blowing about 30 mph for 2 weeks and then the rain came but today I've been burning all day, picking up the little bit that came down lately, and got everything clear. It was a hot, smoky day. Now I can start hauling more out of the "thicket" and start all over again and keep at it for the next couple of weeks. Then I have to take a break and get the warm season veggies planted, service the mowers, wash and wax the tractors for the start of the season, etc., etc.

Whoever said that retirement was all lazing around, fishing and BSing with the boys never lived at our house. :)

Great attitude to welcome the first day of spring hwp...mowing sure beats the heck out of going head to head w/old man winter.

Already spread top soil over those ruts in my pastures, spreading $1,200 worth of lime tomorrow, then over seeding the horse's pasture with a "seeder" and aerator then spreading fertilizer. Next month comes the spreading of this winter's composted horse manure.
Sharp blades on the Woods PRD8400 finish mower and I'm ready for spring :D

I can not believe that the guys in V.T. (especially if they are in the northern part) could think that it is impossible to have some more bad weather. We have had several years including 87' where in April it was a mess with well over 12' and then the year I got married we got another storm in April and my wife thought we would be moving snow on our wedding day!
