What precautions do you take when spraying chemicals in your garden, vineyard etc. I spray copper, sulfur, Mancozeb and wear goggles and overalls and when I am done I take a shower. Of course the text on every package makes it sound like handling U235; what is your experience with that?

Am I wrong to assume that few spoons per gallon thins it out enough to make it generally harmless? I am not gonna take my chances with that stuff, but I would like to know what and how other people with more experience do it.

ive been known to spot spray the garden with generic roundup.... cant say ive done anything special except stand up wind when spraying and i use a fairly coarse spray as to avoid aerating as much as possible.

When I spray my fruit trees I wear a raincoat and pants, rubber gloves and goggles and keep my mouth shut when I am looking up!

I do it when there is no wind, but you know how that goes. There is always a slight breeze or splash back.

This is the first year I am attempting to get edible fruit from my trees besides my cherries, which have been producing for a couple years. I used dormant oil spray in late winter/early spring and will be using a general fruit tree spray starting this week if it ever stops raining. My petals fell off everything but the peach tree this week.

This was the first time I used eye protection; grapes are now my eye height.
