Has anyone worked with the two part spray-on insulation that comes in returnable cylinders? I understand the system requires nitrogen for pressurization. The cylinders come in sizes ranging from a few 100lbs. to 1,000lbs.

It may be similar to what warehouses call 'instapack'. Has 2 reagents, and when they combine produce heat and water vapor.. cures to stiff closed cell foam in seconds.

A warehouse I worked in used that stuff. Looks very similar to the spray can insulation for insulating cracks in buildings, etc.

I have no data on r-value.. but hit owens / corn. website.. they probably do. As the carry thermal and acoustic insulations.

Darren/Soundguy...it's been a while since I worked with a crew up in Prudhoe Bay a decade or so ago...We used a 2-tank product called 'Froth-Pak'...came in sizes from 5# bottles, 2ea., with insulated carry boxes, hose, extra triggered nozzles, clean-out goodies, etc for small applications...then largerPaks we hauled in semi-heated 2 1/2 t. w/chassis mounted boxes. These foam-delivery kits were simple, reliable, consistently trouble-free products. Sorry for such thin details...only a product name...Since I'm getting ready to blow foamon my horse-watering troughs, I need this type of2-part delivery system too. I'll forward any infoturned up. What's your application requirements?

I found a source ( www.fomo.org ) that has the two part spray on insulation. I was quoted $485.15 plus shipping for a setup (looks like two 5lb tanks ) that will do 605 sf with 1" depth. That beats the $2 per sf price plus mileage I was quoted.

They have one part setups and smaller two part setups as well as much larger ones. The stuff can be sprayed during cold weather. It helps to heat the tanks. Other than making sure the surface is clean and dry there are no other requirements.

After I get the concrete floor in the pole barn, I'll spray the roof and sides and kiss condensation good bye. I plan on closing in two of the bays for a shop so it should be easy to heat after the insulation is applied.
