So I'm taking apart the 1715 to replace the clutch and the last piece before splitting, is the hydraulic suction tube. The manual gives no details so, should I remove the tube from the filter housing (there seems to be some play there and i suspect the tube is sealed in place with an o ring) or do i remove the filter housing from the tractor which i suspect i'll have to get a new gasket when replacing. The other end is already disconnected from the short hose at the pump, but it doesn't appear that there will be enough room to wiggle it out of the way when splitting. This is my first attempt at this job on any tractor. Thanks for any assistance

I just looked at the pictures that I took when I split my 1715 for the first time and I did not remove the filter or the long suction tube. Disconnecting the short hose as you have done should work fine. I also removed all of the hard piping for the loader controls and that gave me a lot more room. I hope that you were able to take some pictures before you started and some along the way, this helped me on the reassembly. Do you have a loader and did you remove it before you started?

Yep, I removed it but its an aftermarket rhino and had hoses from the diverter to the hand control which I disconnected from the diverter. The end of the suction tube seems like such a tight fit where it goes into the hose right up against the engine that I thought it would be easier to take it off and out of the way. Thats what the manual suggests also but maybe I'll leave it on and try it. Thanks for the info billybob
