I built this about 30 yrs ago. Just rebuilt is some by putting an engine on it instead of using the pto of the tractor and rebuilding the knife.

Letsroll- Its almost scary how much we think alike. I cut down a few trees with 36" round chunks and I was going to do the exact same thing with the crane. That really works well. Is the crane electric?

We even have the same "T" design for the splitter head. Since my splitter was separate from the hydraulic power pack, I ended up just temporarily burying the I-beam so I could just roll the big logs into the throat (mine works fine but I like yours better!) You do a lot less muscling of the logs than I do.

Pretty cool

the hoist unit is a 8000 lb hyd winch. I have a 26 hp kohler turning a 27 gpm pump from northern tools.
It was not warmed up, so was a bit slow. My son came over with his cam corder, and we just did a quickie.
It really saves the back, and having the T knife keeps the block from splitting in half so you have better control with it.
I should have taken up the boom a bit so the wood would have centered over the ram area better, but we were in a hurry.

Thank you
Lets Roll for getting that up for me. first time on youtube

X for the headsup on the you tube. first attempt at using it. Not that computer savvy.

Great setup!
That one log should supply a day or two's fire.
Now I'd like to see the chainsaw that cut that cut it! :D

066 stihl with a 32inch bar, my small one lol, used to run a 2100 homelite with a 60 in bar. Most wood here now though that 66 is plenty.
