Spit ss spit ss

I hear a sound like this when I first start my tractor. The sound seems to come from just in front and below my left foot as I am sitting on the tractor. I am thinking it is a sound from the hydraulic lines. The sound is only present at startup or low idle. I stopped by the dealer and cranked up one of theirs on the lot and it made the same sound, but the salesman wasn't sure what it was. It eased my mind that the one on the lot made the same sound but now I am curious what it is? Anyone else hear this? I am still learning about hst tractors and now feel this to be a normal sound but is new to me having only owned gear tractors till now.

Not sure about "Spit ss Spit ss", but I have a listing in my Class III Boomer problem file for a noise that occurs when the hydraulic oil is cool, and comes from the left front of the tractor.

14. A 'pth, pth, pth noise" or chatter from HST Cooler Check Valve (located on the top of the HST Filter ) - a "normal noise that occurs when the HST oil is cool. No repair is necessary." Discussed in Is this noise normal?

I have a cure for the noise. Just become as deaf as me and you can't hear it unless you put your ear really close to the top of the HST filter.

Maybe you cant hear because of doing this to many times? Kind of like a catch 22
