There are bigger problems with Walmart than the carousel.

Some of you may be wondering what this has to do with tractors. I want you to know I was wearing my Kioti hat at the time. :)

She was probably raised in a Kubota family and didn't appreciate the disparage you brought to the color orange.

I got my new mask the other day. Haven't worn it to Walmart yet.

As someone who once worked in a "loss reduction" department, I can say the most likely reason they are taught to turn the carousal away from the customer is to keep unscrupulous customers from slipping unpaid merchandise into the bags with other product that has been already scanned. Having shoplifters either "co-mingle" paid and un-paid merchandise in a single bag or just brazenly put product into a bag and try to walk out was a fairly common problem. From the thief's perspective, co-mingling the product is a good strategy. First, since they are buying stuff, it is less suspicious, but also if there is a receipt checker, he may not notice the unpaid product or if it does get caught, the thief can claim that it was the checker who did not scan the product.

How much do you reckon they are losing with the self checkout move? We have one Walmart that converted most of the old manned aisles into self checkout aisles. You can't even get someone to help you when it won't ring up an item. Out of 20-30 aisles they only have two with a cashier.

Something I have had happen twice at the self checkout aisle is a Walmart employee walk in front of me while I was using it to clock in or out. Once when it happened I was having a problem with the scanner and I asked the employee if they were there to help me. The abrupt reply was no as she scanned her id card and walked away.

Another thing I've noticed is the number of employees wearing a mask under their chin or nose. Our county has a ordinance against entering a place of business without a mask and it specifically requires it to be covering your mouth and nose.

In Walmart's defense the people they hire are rarely worth more than minimum wage.

Our self checkout area has not only a large self checkout "area" manned by at least one person ready to help but no belt at the small stations, and 6 lanes of belted self checkout maned by another person with an automatic load sensing belt that brings the products to you the scanner. . They are always ready to assist. There are about 25 checkout lanes. of which during normal traffic load maybe 5 or 6 are manned with checkers. During black Friday or Christmas eve they are all manned, but the "quality" of checker goes down as most of them are temps. I can't complain much about their personnel for the most part. Just a few dumb ones. The store is clean and well stocked, lots of people to assist.

That of which I am very thankful for. Some of the customers look very "dodgy".

it is easier to pull towards the cashier rather than push away. not efficient but easier

If you have ever searched for "The People of Walmart" that guy wouldn't even be worthy of a second glance.

Just one of about a million:
