Quick Hitches Speeco Cat 1 Quick Hitch

I have a speeco hitch. Why didn't I buy one 20 years ago? I can hook the back blade or box blade without ever leaving the seat. For me, It's a backsaver.

I've got the speedco on my little Ford and it works very well for what I use it for. The bushings are over priced and once you put them on an implement you can't pick it up with anything else. I've got Pat's Cat II hitch on my JD with a hydraulic top link and really prefer Pat's over the Speedco.

And BTW SRJones, why'd you have to but a HF after you had a Speeco?
Initally, I took the Speeco hitch and turned it into a FEL-Quick Hitch adapter so I could use 3PH pallet forks, a boom pole and even a landscape rake on my FEL. Then I thought, wouldn't it be nice to have a 2nd one actually attached to the 3PH so I could use these same attachements (and now even more) on both the front (FEL) and back (3PH)?

I had followed the HF Quick hitch adapter discussions here on TBN and I felt reasonably informed as to what I was getting into. So when my local HF store started stocking them, I bought one as quickly as I could.

Pat's is nice system in that the sidelink widths are adjustable but they snap onto the implement using spring-loaded hooks like the fixed width solutions. The benefit is more compatability but the downsides are you need to get off the tractor to install the toplink (luckily this is the easy part) and you may need a longer toplink to keep things in line (on my small 2520 this hasn't been an issue, but these are easy to swap out and it's an excuse to get a hydraulic toplink).

The downside of both systems is that the PTO shaft needs to be longer. Again, my shafts have been long enough (no snickering!) but I also have new implements that probably are designed for these things plus a smaller tractor.

!

There is another option that solves the toplink and PTO length issues. The EZ-HITCH from CARTER AND SON'S TOOL AND DIE, LLC. is similar to Pat's in that it allows more versatility, however this model mounts the implement directly above the current holes in the lift arm not behind them. Thus solving the toplink and PTO issues. The EZ-HITCH model can be found at CARTERANDSONSLLC.COM.
