Here's one I made out of a machine leveling screw,bits of cut up acetylene tank and scraps.In this picture,all that's left is to weld in the side plate where the ground clamp is.She opens up to 16" and has 10" jaws

Very nice !!! I made one a few years back, but it was a woodworking vice, its very handy at times ! Of course I had rock maple inside the jaws, dont want to mark up those pretty furniture pieces ! ;)

Nice big heavy duty vise Bob!
I made a few in my time too. Thought to share this picture. These are about half of what I used to have. They are all precision machine vises for grinding and milling made out of hardened tool steel.

Great having a decent sized vise hey Bob!

Youve seen mine before, 10" jaws, opens to 18".
The vise on top is a standard size vise.
