Speaking of Box blades...

Anyone made one? I've got a 4" tubing utility bar that I could easily weld a flange on the end, then build the box. Only serious part would be the blade. Hardened steel and the proper curve. I don't need it much that's why it's not worth $500.

Pics anyone?

Not sure what size your tractor is, but you can go to Tractor Supply or similar and buy a King Kutter 4 ft box blade for mabye $350, and a 5ft for $250 (unless $$ went up a lot since I bought).

Good Luck, but my time is not worth spending that much on heavy iron plus welding it up..........

Do you have The Little Nickle want ads paper there (I keep going to the northwest edition) or a similar "for sale" paper?

I found a box blade made by Dragon for sale at a farmers place. He was obviously supplementing his income by selling implements on the side, of his barn. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I brought home the 5' blade for just over $300 with tax. It wasn't as pretty as the one at the NH dealer but I'm sure the blue paint would have scraped of just a quickly as the yellow it had. The welds were pretty even and I liked the fact that the cutting edges were double sided and removable.

I would bet you can find a blade cheaper than $500.

Well just curious. I have all the steel I need and I'm always looking for a project to do during the week when I'm "in town". Then up to the country to test the weeks projects. Used in the paper is what I need to do. $400-$500 still way to high because as with most of us my wants greatly out weigh my needs. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Northern has that little Agra-Fab for $200, a little light at 75#. $450 for the regular one that is about 300#. A little less at TSC.

I'll keep my eyes open.
