Anybody thinking what I'm thinking? Just heard that the woman that paid 20 million for a trip into space is a Iranian - Americian and a muslim. Will visit the space station. Hope I'm wrong.

I'm betting the screening process is a little more thorough than the airlines.

No worries here, I say let 'er go.

Just pony up your 20 million, and you too can be on your way.

She's already there, don't see the problem.

I think you are wrong.

I read about her on the internet and in the newspaper. She and her brothers own a high-tech company and have contributed a lot of money to helping the space program.

She is just plain **** smart, and it seems to me she is a lot more American than Iranian. Plus, she has created a lot of high-paying jobs for Americans right here in the USA.

Don't be put off by her being Muslim. I don't think she is one of the militants. The US needs a lot more like her. People who come here and lift up both our entire country and themselves through hard work and intelligence. I doubt that I have made 1/10 the contribution to this country she has.

BTW, what religion do you think Muhammad Chishti, the founder of TBN, might be?

Only problem I've got is that she had to ride a Russian rocket. Seems like the Russians are beating us at our own free enterprise system.

The guy that wrote the 9/11 movie that just caused such an uproar was from Iran. He is getting death threats because of the movie but I did not see if he knew why they wanted him dead nor who the they is.

He said he tried to make the movie non partisan and from the "reviews" :D we had on TBN that seems to be the case. One of the things he said tha really impressed me is that he said was, "I am, most devoutly, an American."

He also hits out at how the NY Times has attacked him with McCarthyism tactics. Interesting guy.

Sounds like a lot of "Americans" could learn alot from him. We need more of HIM than many of what we have.

LOL! She parleyed her and her husband's $50,000 retirement fund into 750 Million dollars! Only in America.

We need more of HER... :D

She and her brother in law are the ones behind the X prize that Burt Rutan and company won for first private flight to space and a repeat within two weeks. Neat person. :)

I can see it already. Carnival Cruises offering space flights with moon walk excursions. Ive said it before and I'll say it again, the moon will be prime real estate one of these days and the Star Spangled Banner is the only flag flying up there right now. I hope we stand by that and claim it when the time comes. If I had the money to get up there, I would be the first moon squater. Laugh at me now, envy me 15 years from now when everybody and their brother want to use my docking station to refuel, repair and restock their cruise ships.

Dang, did not realize she was a Texan. Guess that trumps being an American, at least that is what the Texan's always seem to say.:D:)

I think I'd rather go up and down in the Russian rocket and reentry vehicle than do the trip in the shuttle. I was watching CNN early this morning and NASA is quite concerned of some debris following the suttle around in it's orbit. There is some speculation that it may be a few pieces of the heat shield tiles. Also, it can be lot's of other things. The Atlantis had just gone through a major overhaul and they think it may be some debris from the overhaul left in the payload bay. Those tiles seem like the weak link in that whole system. The Russian stuff has always seemed pretty bulletproof, not real cutting edge stuff, just old reliable, proven designs.

Now see, this is supposed to be the difference between the terrorists and us: we don't care what your religion, language, or country of origin your family is. We judge you based on your own personal behavior and ethics. They, on the other hand, judge based on believing exactly the same as they do: don't believe what I do? Then die.

I have had Muslim students who were some of the sweetest children I've ever known, incredibly respectful. I also have worked for a principal that I want to tell you about: hardworking, kind, instills a sense of honor and pride in kids and teachers, just makes everyone want to be the best person they can be. Now get this part though: as a child Ms. Tsukamoto was sent off to a internment camp during WWII and treated like scum. The Japanese Americans then are like most American Muslims today: proud to live in this country and contribute to democratic society. Ms. Tsukamoto does not go around portraying herself as a "victim": she lives life full of enthusiasm as a "victor" in life. You just can't help feel inspired when you're around her.

When we start saying things to the effect that we hope the U.S. hasn't allowed an Iranian-American Muslim to pay her way to the space station, we have become like the enemy we are trying to overcome. When we start acting the way they do, they have won. Let's remember who we claim to be as Americans: those who respect dignity, honesty, hard work, civility, and morality.
