Can anyone tell me where to get a good set of guages to test the hydraulic pressure on 6000 and 7000 series John Deere. I think Deere wants $850.

All you need a a 0-3000PSI liquid filled gauge, a short (24" or so)hose, and a male QD nipple that fits one of your loader or rear remote ports. Below is a picture of mine...

Now if you are talking about a "flow" gauge, then that gets a lot more pricey.

I'll bet JD's is a Quadri-gauge. A little more complex than a simple 0-3kpsi gauge. But, even with hoses and qd's, still not worth $850. Quadri-gauge, hose, and qd's shouldn't be more than $300. Maybe they put the special $550 green paint on it.;) Welcome to the world of John Deere.

No, I was asking what do you get for your 850$ spent at JD ?

Answer is "SCRE**D"?

How much do they get for the little rubber plug that keeps the glycene from leaking out of the gauge?

If you trying to diagnose hitch and clutch problems this may be a pressure transducer not a simple gauge. It may also graph the pressure rise to your clutch to show how well the proportional pressure control is operating.

Tranny clutches typically run at low pressures 300 - 400 PSI Max and in most applications I have seen are also controlled via proportional valves. The proportional valve provides the smooth shift.

Does this "gauge" system also monitor or generate the electrical controls for the hitch and clutch?

My guess is that for $850 you are getting a lot more than a simple gauge with a couple of hoses and connections.

Typically OEMs make 50-200% profit on parts dept sales, CAT and Deere are probably even a little higher due to customer allegiance.

When I worked for CaseIH they were selling self-propelled cotton pickers for no-to-little profit because they knew the farmer would be back every 12-24 months needing tens of thousands of dollars of replacement wear items that only they could supply.
