When I see a "too good to be true" (a JD 790 TLB for $2400 this weekend on Reading PA Craig's List) I send a brief query- "Where can I see it?"

The answer came from a gal whose dad died and she has it in Provo, Utah!

Those scams usually disappear after a few days.

There's also a link to report SPAM and other issues. I don't report CL scams on TBN (did once or twice)...I just click the CL spam link. The ad will be gone in a few hours.

When I was looking for a tractor I found many "great deals" on Craigslist. Besides the giveaway pricing, many of these "local" (Tucson area) tractors were pictured on lush green fields with tall trees in the background.
