Sound decent or not???

This is for sale by the TractorBroker. I've not heard anything bad about him and he's not to far away from where I am. Just curious if you'll think this sounds decent? Not posting the pic because well I'm new and I have even tried to figure that out yet.

I would guess that it is a scam, that should be a $9-12k tractor. Ask where it is located and if you can come and see it. If you get a runaround story (ie: it is all crated and at a shipping yard or something) it is a scam.

You know the price seems very good and I thought scam at first also. The thing that has me second guessing is the background of all 3 tractors he has for sale is the same, ie=same farm. Maybe he is just hanging up the boots.

I would first go to look at the machines. Second make sure serial numbers are in place, ect. Third at that price pay someone $150 or so, tractor mechanic, to go look at it with you and check it over including the fluids for contaminates.

Last pay only with a Cashiers Check. Get a bill of sale. Also check with the local sheriff prior to buying to see if its on the up and up and not reported as stolen. Tractors do not have a title so they are easily stolen.

Why do scams always look like this? That's my creepy concern.
The photography, the setting, etc all reminds me of other scams.

The only way to find out is to dig deeper, following the standard plans stated well by others above. They look great!!! Therein lies the problem.

Well, 403 hours on a 1996 tractor averages only 31 hrs per year. Pretty light use. The average used retail price (what a dealer would get) is about $6600 and the average trade-in price is about $4300. I'd shoot for $5K-5.5K. I'd never pay dealer prices in a private sale.

Didn't notice it was sold at the time so not sure it was then or not. I wasn't concerned about it being a scam as he is a used dealer in eastern oregon who has been around for awhile.
At any rate thanks for the input. I'm shopping around so I'll be posting similiar post looking for all the help I can get.

To me, all of his prices look a little too good to be true. Satoh and JD seem less than I would expect to find them in the condition described.

He may be legit. If he is, I'd love to buy a tractor from him at those $$$$$$....
