I hear ya, I've been making do with something similar myself for the last 15+ years. Get maybe 3 years out of a tarp before the UV gets to it. I do make a point of keeping the snow cleared off it, had a second one collapse after a late season "heart attack" snowstorm a couple years ago.
Would love to have one of those shipping container sheds myself, but even if I could get the approval of the chief aesthetics officer, not sure there'd be a way to physically get one where I'd want it due to terrain.
You might consider ShelterLogic. Very easy to assemble on site, but I would either make a foundation, or use enough ground anchors.

They have several grades of covers, and the higher grade(s) seem heavier duty, and they are of a different, more UV resistant plastic. The base grade lasted us 5-7 years in the sun and wind here. The jury is out on the higher grade version, but it is not showing any signs of wear after five years.

All the best,

Peter

Smallest they offer is 12,000 lbs, 98" wheel base, and 130hp. That's even bigger than the Deere 6120M. But thanks, non the less.
I think you might be sweating the size thing too much. I can’t remember your work list, but even my 300HP Challenger doesn’t feel that big to me anymore.

Whenever someone steps up in size considerably, they get apprehensive. Then 2 years later, they be like “I can’t believe I thought this was a “big” tractor” lol

.....

Maybe my frivolous period is ahead?
Don't wait for it. All of us know people that had a lot of frivolous (fun) plans for when they retired, then didn't last long after they did retire.

All the extra things my wife wants me to change the house into.

I already lost my saws to my wife. She loves burning up 2 stroke. She won't touch my 36" echo cuz of its size so I still have 1 saw.
That reminds me... several years back I asked my neighbor if I could borrow his live trap to deal with a woodchuck. He said his son lost the trap in a divorce.

I wish my namesake uncle had lived long enough for me to get to know him. My mother said we shared many traits, like interest in science and electronics. He died before I was born.

That's what this one is. I wish I'd thought to put a sacrificial tarp over it when I first got it, the tag with the model # is so faded I can't read it to order another factory cover. I have been tarping it (with the original cover still in place) for the last 8 years or so. The original cover lasted 5 years or so before it started to fray.

We're fairly well protected from wind, just using the screw anchors it came with. Anchor wire on one corner (the one that ties the frame to the anchor) broke in an unusually strong gust of wind last fall, but that's the only issue I've had. I'm sure that wire was rusted and weak when it broke. Anchor itself didn't budge.

Someday when I'm rich I might do something better, but this seems to do the job for now.

Over the tire tracks for my BC Skid Steer. I could afford the tracks but not the smaller set of tires and rims required for a fit....
