Somebody explain different types of PTO?

Hi Guys.
Is there anyone who can explain the different sorts of pto to me? Live, two stage clutch, constant running, transmission, or any other sort of PTO that there is. Your help would be much appreciated don't really have much of a clue what the differences are. Is constant running like on the older fords/ford sons where the pto is always turning and it is needed to be turning to have the hydraulics work?

That just takes me to google homepage. Have looked at a few threads but so many of them seem to contradict or confuse me. Need it in simple terms (for ignorant me) just to understand
