When will common sense ever come to some people? I am home taking care of the critters getting ready to relax for the evening when a guy stops outside the house. Ask if I will come pull him out as he got stuck and another guy tried to pull him out but got stuck as well. So I say no problem and start the TN and finish my chores before I head down the road. Now here is the story.

The guy stuck is one of the guys who works on Bill boards. I saw the other day where one of the bill board workers tried driving thru a wet field (water sits on top of the field as it is so low and saturated). Common sense would say this field is wet and a truck would get stuck. These guys drove thru it the one day and managed to make it out but made a mess. This time they went further in towards the bill board and buried their truck. By the time I got invited to this party my friend who lives next to this party tried to pull him out and buried his Chevy. So I had to pull him out and the entire time the TN is sinking as I pull the ground is so wet (like every spring here). Finally hook onto the bill board workers truck ( a brand new Dodge Dakota crew cab and 4wd) His rear end of the truck was under the mud. The rear bumper is already caved in from the previous attempt to jerk him out of there. I hook on and I end up moving him about 20 feet before I was sitting on the belly of the tractor. The only reason I could move him that far was because I used the loader to pull us both thru the slop. We unhook and I repostion and lengthen the strap and finish pulling him out. By this time my TN was completely covered in mud. His truck was looking very sad and I was not too amused as he was joking around about it. Normally I pull people out for free but when this guy offered me $40 I did not hesitate to take it. The entire time I was thinking "what the heck would make this guy think his truck would make it thru there and back". The fact the guy almost got stuck before the last rain storm and still went back is what got me. But at least I made an extra $40 and I never had to leave the tractor seat /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Now the best part, the field this happened in was a farmer friends and it now has some very nice ruts from this little experience. I know the workers will not come back to fix it so I will get to go back and help fix it for free once it dries. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif Sorry for rambling but I just felt like, well rambling /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif Take care.

If the farmer is smart, he will send the bill board company a bill for fixing the field and I am sure that they will just pay it. Then the two of you could split it and you both will have smiles on your faces. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Almost the same thing happened on my property about 2-weeks ago. Only difference I can only see the after affects.

I came up on my property on my way home from work (I leave in the dark in the morning) and noticed some doughnuts (not the edible kind) right near the edge of the road on my property. As I got closer I noticed alot of dark dirt/trenches in the nice wet front section.

Upon close examination it looks as though some young kid must have been screwing around in his pickup truck and as he got further into my property his truck got stuck. I could see secondr set of ruts where someone came to pull him out. Needless to say I've got a frontage that looks like a drunk was running a ditch witch.

Of course not a "I'm sorry" note in my mailbox -- which I really didn't expect. I'm glad I've got a training course for young idiots to make their mistakes on.

Ahhh! that used to happen to our neighbors all the time because there fields where surrounded by 3 roads. Our neighbor got to the point that when he found a truck where it did not belong he would just go fill up his manure spreader and let them have it. After a while this problem stopped as word got around about the manure. We where lucky on our farm all 335 acres where directly behind the barn and the only access was thru our driveway.

Robert In NY.... we actually have kids around here that actually look for manicured lawns and then back up on them at night and peel-out... these are lawns that are downtown in the historic district... lots of picket fences.... really nice areas. Golf courses have been frequent victims too.

Something similar happened right on my property about 5 years ago. Some idiot decides he's gonna drive his 4WD Suburban across my field to the creek. Apparently got stuck about 50 feet in, as there were some pretty bad ruts made, but instead of coming out of the field he keeps going further in and finally buries it. I get my tractor out there and I can pull it, but it spins and slides sideways on a slight incline and I finally give up and we have to leave the Suburban stuck in the field for few days until it dried some.

Boy I sure missed my Suburban /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif

one time when in high school I got dads whillies jeeps stuck. I asked a guy to pull me out and he too got stuck. We gave up and went home planing to get a buddy of dads with a swamp buggy to come pull it out. Next day after school I went out there and there was 18 trucks and a big grove tractor stuck and none of them had even made it to where me and the one guy I ask to hep me were stuck..
Now here is the funny part my jeep was really stuck I jumped a log it hit the starter and broke it off and I could not restart it

The neighbor at my last house had a corner lot. He was always getting a lawn job. One wet morning He come out to find a car stuck in the middle of his yard. He called the Sheriff and while He was there a lady her son and a tow truck showed up. After a brief discussion with the Sheriff She couldn’t understand why She could not just pull the car out and go home. Not a hint that her son had done any property damage. Sheriff impounded the car and kept it till the damage was paid for. Some people.
