Some people are Pigs

We have that on just about any drink container other than regular unflavored milk. People pick up the littered containers for the deposit money. People drinking while driving get rid of their containers out the window to avoid compounding thier problems if they are pulled over. I think a beer can in plain view, or providing an aroma, is one probable cause for sobriety testing.

Most of the litter along our road frontage comes from fast food restaurants. What can be said other than 'people really are pigs'.
Dave.

That's why I said "all consumer packaging". It would be a huge pia to the fast food folks, but it would keep the clutter down.

Night is the worst... the Hospital Parking Lot at one time has had all manner of discards...

One of the worst for me was someone changed their oil by letting it all run out on the parking lot...

Major appliances or parts of them are pushed off the back of a truck for someone else to clean up after.

Ever since Waste Management raised the dump fees... costs a lot to dump... the problem has expanded exponentially.

I've gone on a number of Law Enforcement ride-alongs and the officers are very quick if they see someone tossing trash out the window... it's intentional with utter disregard and I'm all for writing the citations...

I see that as part of the problem too...years ago here in SC I went to one of the collection centers and had an old boat trailer tire among other trash. They would not let me leave the tire there, said I had to take it to the main facility 10 miles away.

It suddenly became clear why I see so many discarded tires in ditches etc...

One of my main gripes, too.... I work as an aide in a middle school; you can't walk in any direction from anywhere without passing a trash can within 25' or so, yet junk still makes it to the floor. Heaven help the kid I see do it.

Does it say somewhere on those pull-tab plastic bottle caps "To open: 1. Pull tab 2. Drop on floor"..... Arrghh!!

One of the "other things" I try to teach our young..... I go quite ballistic when a confronted-for-littering child says, "That's what we have janitors for."

When I see a student go to a trash can and put something in, I make sure I give 'em a pat on the back!

OK, time to calm down now.....

More likely because it was Sunday. Sunday is 'ruhetag', meaning a quiet, restful period. Probably has it's origins as in 'Sunday is a day of rest', but it's not really a religious thing anymore.
Dave.

Quite possible, though in the relatively liberal suburbs of Geneve I don't think it would have been "more likely".
It is 2nd., 3rd hand story since a neighbor of his explained to him what the other neighbor had been complaining about.
No French, no German, no Italian, but he could get by in an international city.

I see now. :) Don't know how that would work in reality. Some of the packaging is being made more quickly bio-degradable at least.

Like to share a story with y'all. This happened many years ago when I was living in Phoenix, AZ. While attending college, I worked in a "service station" (give you an idea how long ago this was)?

Anyway, next door to the station was a Fish and Chips place, a young couple went to the drive through window, got their order and then parked on our lot to eat. I watched the passenger drop a bag of trash out the car window and onto our lot. I just casually walked on over to the car, picked up the bag of trash and handed to the young lady sitting inside the car. I told her, "I think you dropped this".

She looked at me DUMBfounded and I walked away. Her boyfriend started the car and they drove off. They probably threw the trash out the window some where down the street.

Some people are Pigs.:smiley_aafz:

I have a half mile of highway frontage on my place, every time I am there I have a new batch of fast food trash to pick up. Most of it seems to collect in a little draw and then it will float to the back of property in a wet weather creek if I don't catch it in time.

What fires me up is smokers who think the world is their ash tray. I have done the "you dropped something" trick with a burning butt someone tossed from their car. It's kinda fun to watch them start slapping and hopping in their seat trying to locate their burning butt. :D

If a cigarette is so disgusting they don't want it's remains in their car why would they put it in their mouth in the first place? Disgusting!

Where we live, it is kinda like a neighborhood with land. There is a retired neighbor that walks the local road daily for exercise and says every day he ends up picking up trash from people passing through. When ever i'm out either grading the road or filling pot holes I'll pick up trash and bring it to the trash at home. It is a little dissapointing that even people in our own neighborhood dump trash on other neighbor's properties.

It is nice in SC.. I have several co-workers and friends in SC..
In the counties they live in they can go to the landfill for Free!!!

Here in NC, we have to pay for almost everything!!

Henderson county has the 1 and 1 program -- 1 bad of trash for 1 bag of recycling for free... Equal amounts....

People our pigs....

We live behind a subdivision of with 2-6 acres lots. Most are 2ish acres. Before we bought our land someone up front would dump yard waste on the property. I noticed in the past week or so someone dumped a bunch of yard waste near a creek in front of the subdivision. It is a dump truck or small trailer load of stuff that easily and quickly breaks down. I wish I could catch them so I could get a deputy to write them up for dumping.

The road in our land was open to the public for years. I still pick up bottles and cans. Every time I think I have gotten it all I find more.

I have had people drive up our road past the gate with posted signs and dump used kitty litter... Twice that I know about.

Only one or two of the house in the neighborhood have garbage pickup. The two nearest grocery stores are near a garbage collection center. It is very easy to get too and use. One of the neighbors over fills their garbage can to overflowing. Trash gets blown all over the place. They have loads of money so I know they can afford garbage bags....

The funny thing is that they drive past the collection center every day. They spend more time dragging the trash down the 300-400 feet of driveway than it would take for them to take the garbage to the collection center....

The collection center does not charge. County residents pay for the service and we now get a sticker to put in the windshield. You can dump as much as you like. :D We used to not even get a sticker but the county somehow figured out that out of county people were using the collections centers. After the stickers were sent out collections dropped significiently.

We recently had a sad story come to work for us as a favor to a friend. This guy was 26 and pretty good sized fella but not to work brickle. I figured out he was a habitual liar and didnt have much respect for others. I told dad it was a bad idea to hire him. we were in the shop on a rainy day and I climbed under my company truck to change the oil and felt something burning my face. I was a cigarette but he had thrown in the floor. I asked him not to put them i nthe floor but in a sand box or a sealed coke bottle with water in the bottom.

I was out front in the raised flower bed in front of the shop and looked around and saw about 25 butts in the parking area, it was funn watching him in the pouring rain picking them up. What really bothers me is when we have other services come to work to do things like fill our propane tanks, venders, and visitors. I was following one tool van out and he threw out a carry out box on the pond levee. I stopped him and asked why he threw it out. he said its a landfill duh. I could have punched him. I told him it had a specific dumping site and second that we couldnt take house hold now go back and pick it up or im calling customer service.
Had a similar thing happen with a group from the plant that got a weekend pass to fish in the lake. Came in Monday morning to a messy lake shore and soda bottle in the lake and all over. needless to say theres not a fishing permit there any more.

When my brother was in college he worked in the nearest Lowes in Corinth MS and one night had to push in buggies. Looked in some in the buggy bay and there was 15 20 to 25 pound river carp in some of the buggies.

Here's one...pulled into a gas station. There's a lady sitting in driver seat of car texting. Man watching gas fill car tank. 4-5 yr old kid peeing next to pump. Was it too far for someone to take the kid to the pot 100' away?

Were you traveling in France by any chance? :D Hope our French TBNers don't take offense, but ...

We have some crown land beach across the lake. I've seen worse, or should I say larger.

 it was more like a turdle.

And let me add that you guys don't want to hear what was done to me Nice's car when she took her young family to Walmart. Roll your windows up! Some women are pigs too.

:D:D:D

This opens up the People Are Pig stories from Disney world....

People have seen kids peeing in the shrubs at WDW. There are bathrooms everywhere but the parents will just let the kids go in the landscaping. I have seen it at least once. :)

There are garbage can's everywhere but people will still litter. Disney does a good job picking up the trash from the Pig People.

People change dirty diapers on tables in restaurants. :confused2:

One man was seen laying in the grass with his shirt pulled up exposing his big belly and belly button. He had put either salt or mustard in his belly button. :confused2: He was eating a soft pretzel and was dipping said pretzel into the mustard/salt in his belly button. :licking: YUM. NOT! :D:D:D

People have been seen filling bottles with water on the water rides like Pirates of the Caribbean. They then give the bottles to the kids. The water is filtered and treated but it is not meant to be drinkable. People spit into the water....

This is the worse one...

People have been seen cleaning a babies dirty rear end, covered in poo, at drinking water fountains. :confused2::mad:

Later,
Dan
