Well my family picked up a 72 ford 3000 for some general work around our property last year, and it has had some issues arise this year that need taken care of.
First It has developed a decent oil leak, It comes from a little hole on the bottom of the tractor in the bell housing area, im guessing the hole is just a type of vent, im thinking rear main seal. If this is it can it be changed with just dropping the oil pan?
Second, i would like to change the hydraulic filter on the tractor, from what i understand it is down inside. Does this involve taking off the large cover underneath the seat? Also with a load on it and the tractor off it will start dropping just a little at a time. Is there a easy fix for this as well?
Im not worried about the mechanical side of things i have been working on different types of things for years. Just need alittle input on this machine
Thanks
Pat
