I think I have a simple solution to the problem of the Pins/Bolts sticking, when you try to lower the ROPS. I just screw the bolt in far enough for the cotter pin to make it through the hole. This leaves 1/4 inch or more of play on the other side, but the pin holds it in place. If the ROPS snugs up against the pin, just turn the bolt the other way, before removing.
I was out on the tractor for around three hours last weekend moving snow off the driveway and again for three hours today moving snow away from the house (slide off from metal roof), and both times both bolts came out easily. Before this, one ALWAYS stuck.
Hope this helps someone.
