solenoid valve and limit switches

I am making almost like a conveyor system for my stationary back hoe with a hydraulic motor. My question is i want to be able to set specific stop points with a solenoid valve and multiple limit switches can this be done. or a better way?

I don't see why not, but be careful with the speed of the motions starting out. Don't run the systems faster than the switches, valves and cylinders can react to direction changes. You may find you will need proportional valves for better damping.
