A while back I had symptoms of what I was convinced was water in the fuel. I replaced the filters, changed the spring clamps to band clamps, drained the fuel and replaced it...eventually it just stopped. The past few seat sessions have proven a recurrence of these issues. Today as I was battling the sputtering which seemed to coincide with each movement of the tractor, I was convinced there was water in the bottom of the filter swashing around as the cause. Finally, today I opened the hood and noticed the solenoid randomly cutting itself in and out. I took a stick and wedged it open. Problem solved!
I cut my 12" backyard as it has finally dried the from weeks of rain that had a foot of water and soggy turf.
As it has been mildly doing this for a few sessions, now, only after forcing the solenoid to stay open have I introduced myself to a new symptom...with the fuse intact, I cannot shut off the tractor. I assume it is fried now and was getting there before.
Help, its out running in the garage now!
(only kidding)
Anyone have solenoid failures like this?
