I have a 12V system at a small cabin and would never build anything but a 48v system. Most of these cheaper lithium batteries dont have bluetooth so when something goes wrong your left guessing what cell has issues. Also most lithium you can only do 4S4P and for the OPs prety big loads prob isnt enough.

Really in the end putting a new bigger service in will be cheaper and more reliable for prob the first 10-15yrs. It also adds value to your property unlike a offgrid system. In fact in my area if your property dosnt have grid power you cant get a mortgage for it.
Im running 4 ,12v in series for a 48v system. For what im running there in this small cabin and for the limited days it gets utilized Im ok without bluetooth etc. Also with its higher risk of being broken into with no one there full time id much rather loose $600 worth of batteries than a $1000 or more battery.

$400 isnt really the difference in BT vs non. It's more like $20-25 per battery.

I also have a offgrid cabin and no ones going to hike my golf cart batteries to the road.

If Im going to spend more than the $600 cost of 4 basic lifepo's I would spend another $400 and get a server rack 51.2v battery with communication.

We used kerosene lamps in the cabin we built in Alaska. Cooked on and heated with a wood stove. Had a small Honda generator for summer. To run the small frig. Then we retired and sold the cabin and all the property.

I’ve been using solar power for a cabin I built, and it’s been great. It’s definitely a cost-effective solution if you’re off the grid and don’t want to deal with monthly power bills. One thing that helped me was getting solar panels for a good deal. I found a supplier who had quality solar panels cork, and it really made a difference in setting up my system.

I strongly recommend you buy this if your doing series. the "batteries" will get out of balance with each other. I am not talking about the individual cells in the batteries.

to everyone else. I strongly recommend battery/bluetooth BMS units. they remove a TON of mystery if there is an issue.

also to anyone else looking at LiFeP04, these batteries can't be charged below freezing, without heating them up. just be aware of that.

4S yes. you can parallel 500 batteries if you want. there is no limitation there.
