Soil Survey

/ Soil Survey #21
Yep, Bruce, that's what we had 60 miles south of Dallas, but certainly not what we have across the lake from The Colony (well, actually west of Little Elm). Our current soil is much lighter in color and much easier to dig in wet or dry and doesn't stick to your digging tools when wet like that gumbo does. And while I think we still need to water around the foundation, the place was vacant and no watering was done for 6 months of the drought last summer, but I haven't seen any evidence of any ill effects.

Bird, great find... I have all the info for my place... some years ago there was available a county book with all the info.... for entire county, aerial photos, etc...

I like the AOI feature... Area of Interest.... and it zooms nicely to that area... polygon works well, and my place is strangely shaped.

Yep, folks, if you thought that you had privacy... got another think comming.... you can see my 24' cattle trailer, house, cars, barns, where I feed hay, all the waterways, size of ponds, there are several places on the net where you can do this... and Google Map is the best one, IMHO, for general stuff... no soil identification, however. With almost any of these you can determine the EXACT coordinates of anything you care about on your place... and so can anyone else. Also on line is the property tax records, how much you pay, and your neighbors too. size of house, number of acres... it's all there if you know how to look/find it... free...
