Soil Savage

/ Soil Savage #2
Hey, that is kind of interesting. I'd like to find out more about it, but probably won't contact them directly (they really should put more info up on the web site). Any idea what it costs? And, probably more importantly, how it is supposed to do all of those wonderful things?

I spoke with Paul Roberts, they are currently working on dealers for the Soil Savage. I called on a Tuesday afternoon and he returned my call first thing in the morning, I was very impressed with the quick reply.

That is what we used to call a cultivator. There are different types of shovels available. It sure wasn't used for all those jobs listed on the site.

With big tractors many farmers will use them for breaking up grass land [ using chizel plows ] or just for preparing seed beds on cultivated land. [ shovel plows ]

There are also some designed as subsoilers that go real deep to loosen up underlaying hardpan.

OK, that sounds right. But does that mean this thing is worthless (or not the ideal implement) or is it useful?

Haven't seen a cost. That might help form a good opinion...

It's a good usefull machine. It works best on cultivated land. It will dig up or find rocks. After using it the field should be harrowed but not essential.

Different shovels will allow you to do different types of soil preparation.
