So I bought a used tiller today. It is a Befco 11-254-23x. Its older in good shape but sat for along time. Would any one have a manual for it they can scan for me? The only issuse I can see is the pto shaft is froze. I may have to get a new shaft. If I do should I get one with a slip clutch or just get another shear pin/bolt one. I do have rocky soil and don't want bust my pto on the tractor.

I hope you like your Befco as much as I like my KK. A slip clutch an a shear pin do the same job, just differently. I would change the oil in the gear box if you haven't already.

Before you buy a new PTO shaft, try soaking the existing one with some Kroil for a couple of days. Or, if you don't have any Kroil, I saw someone recommending a 1/2 and 1/2 mix of acetone and ATF as an excellent penetrating solvent.

If you use acetone and ATF, be careful not to get it on any painted surfaces. Acetone is a paint remover.

Update
The PTO shaft came a part easier than was expected. Now where to find a shield for it. It is a triangle shaped shaft i believe to be Eurocrdan not sure what series.
