anyone had a float come off the sender? loaded it up the other day to go help a buddy out, and noticed that I was almost in the red. no problem, stop at the gas station and hit'er with the good stuff... after about 3 gallons it started foaming out the top, and was just about overflowing full.

I know for a fact this hog takes more than 3 gallons. haven't had a chance to take a look see down the filler (Reckon I'll do that tomorrow on my day off), but it hasn't been bumped around *that* much.

I usually put 3 gallons in my Max28 when it gets close to the red. After that the gauge usually reads right at the full mark.

I generally only put 3 gallons in my 5 gallon fuel tanks. It makes it easier to hold over the tractor to refuel and keeps from spilling and making a mess.

At what revs were you working the tractor at?

I've found that my HST tractor's fuel gauge goes 'wonky' at 2500 & above, but it's steady and accurate at 2000. It doesn't matter if I'm in Low or High, it'll red-line whilst working at the higher revs and I know that I've got more than half in the tank.

My 3016 gauge will be in the red and, if I'm lucky, I can put in 3 gals.

Is this what it normally will do?

You said you were loading it on the trailer and noticed it... if your not on level ground or at and angle like that when you check the fuel it wont be right.

Even so.. its not a big deal to replace. one of the easier ones actually
