Hey Scott; Would you mind since you have the practice....... My cub needs some yellow and white. Looks like yours just rolled off the delivery truck. A little mud on the blade must be a result of the demo.

Mornin Joe,
Well, I never sprayed yellow and white but theres always a first time :)

Yep, the mud on the blade was me pushing a huge pile of leaves into the woods :) no snow in New England you know  :)

The new arrangement allows me to get 10" of blade lift. Im happy with that and will post a pic later today :)

Glass beading and painting is all thats left, oh yeah, I need some snow also ;)

Mornin Guys,
This arrangement seems to work out well, Im getting 10" of lift at the blade and that works for me :) I added a zerk at the pivot point and other than some finish welding, glass beading and paint, Im good to go.

I will post one more finished pic when its all painted !

Afternoon Guys,
Sorry about the long layover ! But its almost done now.

First pic all parts are finished welded and glass beaded.

Second pic, all parts are painted and Im waiting for them to dry and will reassemble tommorrow or saturday. One final shot of everything on the tractor.

Oh yeah, one minor problem, we have no snow, we havent gotten any snow and saturday they are talking about 55 to 60 degrees ! :) The grass is green and I should be working on a mower !:)

Nice job Scotty. The thing I like best about your snowplow frame/snow plow is that it looks so original, as if it could have been an original implement. Very cool. Sorry you don't have any snow to try it out on.

Mornin Mike,
Yep, I will ! Sooner or later we will get something :) I have about 400/450 lbs on the drawbar plus 300 lbs of wheel weights and chains with ice cleats, Im thinkin it should work OK. But I will get an action shot as soon as possible :)

Im thinking this may be the only action shot in Ct this winter :( All the snow is up at my Vt home so this will have to do. The plow works great ! This was plowing 3 inches of sleet.

Yes, and after blading off his drive, he should ride down to the local coffee shop for a cup of coffee and a doughnut. Probably get his pic in the paper.

nice lookin job, if it plows anything like our '45 A, you'll push more then ya wanna walk though...... ours has been happly pushing for 4 generations now. 2wd works fine, with enough weight, the front tires don't touch anyway lol

Good Afternoon Guys,
We had about 5" of actual snow at my Ct home on monday, and even though I posted an action shot of plowing the sleet storm from valentines day I thought I would finish the thread with a couple shots of plowing real snow ! ;) The plow worked just great and wasnt straining the trip spring like when I was plowing that heavy 3" of sleet ! :)

I did do a neighborly thing and plowed out my next door neighbor, and unfortunately when I was finishing his drive I hit a patch in his driveway and sheared the 1/2" bolt on the underside of the plow for the trip spring :( It since has been fixed :)

Scott, somehow I missed the beginning of this thread ... maybe a good thing as I got to see it all today. Really excellent job !!!!!!! Could not agree more with the other guy that said ~"it looks original". Beautiful, i guess is the best descriptor.
I grew up in my dad's garage machine shop ... and ran his lathe and mill in his last years of a "retirement" production job he held onto until death (racing engine rod bolt stretch gauges) ... I recognize your craftsmanship and appreciatye it.
Cheers!

Mornin Shane and Homebrew,
Thanks for following this thread ! It really was a fun project and I enjoyed a followup project, aka snowplow, on this tractor after I finished restoring it this past fall ! :) The tractor does great on slight hills and on the flats, using the added weight on the drawbar, about 400 lbs along with the rear wheel weights and old truck chains. The farmer down the road from me gave me the chains with ive cleats and they bite pretty good !

This tractor would never be able to plow my Vt driveway with that steep hill and ice outcropping but its great for what I use it for !

Thanks again!
