Just bought a Cub Cadet snowblower brand new and on the original pallet on ebay $599 and then got another 10% off on a paypal coupon making the total cost to me $539 !!! Had a friend that is local to Reading some 88 miles away pick it up for me to save the shipping, I'm about 5 hours away. The guys in Reading and has another on line if anyones interested.

Installed a oil pan heater today for the winter ahead. Install was easy and it works quicker than advertised. Got it from JC Whitney for some 45 dollars.

Do you also need hydraulic kit and some other hardware to mount this up.

I have a 5252 that I'd really like to put a blower on!

Thanks,
Curt

Saw that on Ebay.
You must have the hydraulic valve kit, same one used for the loader. And, a front hitch kit, and PTO kit. The loader valves are easy to come by, but the front hitches and PTO kits are very scarce. I've been looking around myself with no luck.
Definitely a good deal at 599 new!
Interesting on the oil pan heater.....probably easier than a block heater, and cheap. What machine did you put it on?

I put it on a 5234D. The heater installed in minutes. Used a wire wheel to clean the pan of paint. Marked it out with a pencil tracing the edge so as to not remove more than needed. Plug it in for a second to warm it and stick it into place. Then use the sealant provided to seal the edges preventing water from getting underneath lifting it and rusting the pan. Use some supplied wire ties to route the plug out from underneath.

Heats it up faster than advertised. Nice product. I will install a quality 3 wire ( Non Home Depot )hard wired timer in the barn operating the outlet that I will plug the tractor into. This way when I arrive on friday nights the tractor will be warmed up by the time I arrive around 9pm. . This will save electric and be a safe way to do this. On time around 5:30pm and I will be good to start !

Now I just have to hook up the blower and oh yeah finish the lights I installed and rough wired last weekend. This coming weekends project. I am sure another trip tp Tractor Supply will be in store for me

I have two extra sets of sleeves for the Quick Hitch. $25 for a simple piece of metal is not cheap.

I wonder if the 5000 series blower will mount up to the Sc2400...I think they both use the same A-frame front hitch set-up. If I can get the blower for $599 then all I need is the Cub Yanmar front hitch ( I think the wife might let me get it for Christmas)....of course then I'll need a cab. Does anyone know if this blower will work for me? I'm going to try to get to my dealer soon to ask, I'll let you know what I find out.

This drawing probably doesn't help, where were you able to find this assy and what did it cost you?

Good Luck,
Curt

I have the blower Model #818 now.

On the cover the instructions say you must have Part # 590-817-100 front hitch kit and #590-816-100 front pto kit.
The tractor already has the accessory valve kit on it for the loader #590-815-100 .

so I wonder if I can still get these and what this will cost ? Or should I attach it to the rear of the tractor and what will that take for me to get it done ? Any idea's??

Tractor started right up with the pan heater and I was able to clear the 12-16" of snow fairly easily with the loader. Wish I had the blower on the front or aplow for a cleaner job. But hey it beats trying to push a 24" blower around and driving up the driveway through deep snow.
