Those "retro" kubotas are awesome. I love the round headlights on the first gen kubotas. That one looks to be in great shape and not many around with a CAB! Very nice score.
Ah - a toasty hot day. The high was about 25F! But no wind and I've got my Walls on and the heater in that tiny cab really does the business.
I don't know what year it is. Somewhere mid eighties. It was owned most of its life by a tiny locality that just used it for its parking lot and sidewalks. Only 1150 hours on it!
I did put a bit less than a grand and a month of work into rehabbing it. I'm just not happy unless I'm in the shop holding a wrench.
The style looks to me like a prop from a Godzilla movie. I imagine rapid unintelligible Japanese exclamations and loud screeching monster sounds when I look at it.
I'm liking the old girl myself... the older machines are a far cry from the new "plastic divas" we're getting today. I looked for quite a while locally before I finally gave up and got the new one. The older machines were either beat to death or too expensive for used.
Don't get me wrong, the 3400 is a nice tractor, it's just... new.. The satisfaction you get from walking outside and admiring your "new" old tractor that you got a good deal on and has lots of life left is .. well... I don't know how to put it in words exactly, but it's a good feeling.
Reminds me of my old 185DT, amazing what that little girl could do ! Still a lot to be said for the new stuffower steering, heat, AC ,mine didn't have a cab !
